Kunstnernes Hus
Oslo Norway

Kunstnernes Hus is an artist-run organisation, a foundation which presents Norwegian and international contemporary art, located in central Oslo right by the Palace Park. Kunstnernes Hus is widely regarded as one of the foremost architectural expressions of classical modernism in Norway.

In addition to its exhibition rooms, the building also houses a new cinema and lecture hall, the Felix education and seminar room, the Torpedo art bookstore, and the Lofthus Samvirkelag restaurant. The building also hosts several other tenants, such as the Nordic art journal kunstkritikk.no and the Academy of Fine Art in Oslo, which disposes of eight studios and the gallery Akademirommet, whose entrance is from the back of the house. Kunstnernes Hus has a rich history and continuously seeks to explore new ground, and has recently witnessed a formidable increase in both activity level and visitors. Our Scandia Junior chair is used throughout the restaurant on the ground floor, setting the atmosphere once you enter the building. Make sure to try their fantastic pizza after an exhibition.
